Construction Operator - Dunedin

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Construction Operator to join our dynamic team based in Dunedin or Balclutha. Key Responsibilities
- Operate in & around "in-ground" services.
- Operate a range of construction equipment and machinery, ensuring safe and efficient practices are followed at all times.
- Undertake a variety of construction tasks including site preparation, excavation, trenching, backfilling, and materials handling.
- Assist in general labouring duties to support project progress and meet deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery and promptly report any faults or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to achieve project goals and standards.
- Abide by all company health & safety policies and contribute to a safety-first culture on site.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience operating in and "in-ground" services.
- Recent experience working with Drainage & Water crews.
- Experience working on a variety of earthworks projects unsupervised.
- Practical experience operating construction machinery such as loaders, and rollers (or similar equipment), and class 2 Trucks.
- A current New Zealand class 2 driver's licence with WTR endorsements.
- Strong understanding of site safety and a commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
- A team-player attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility with working hours, including possible early starts and some weekend work during peak periods.
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual duties in all weather conditions.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
