About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Contract Delivery Manager to join our Dunedin Kerb & Channel construction team. This role will lead contract delivery across multiple kerb and channel projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The successful candidate will combine commercial and contractual expertise with practical construction knowledge, working closely with project managers, site supervisors and subcontractors to drive high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage contract delivery for kerb and channel projects, including planning, resourcing, programming and day-to-day coordination with project teams.
Monitor project financials and performance: review progress claims, validate quantities, manage subcontractor payments, track cost to complete and reports.
Drive safe, high-quality delivery on site by working closely with supervisors to ensure workmanship meets specifications, quality control procedures on time and in budget.
Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders; facilitate clear communication, resolve issues and support stakeholder engagement activities as required.
Maintain and improve project systems and records: ensure drawings, specifications, quality evidence, H&S documentation and handover records are accurate and up to date.
Promote continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, supporting training and mentoring team members to develop commercial and delivery capabilities within the Dunedin team.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience in contract delivery, contract administration or commercial management within civil construction, roading or infrastructure projects—experience with kerb and channel works preferred.
Strong understanding of New Zealand construction contracts, procurement processes and standard contract documentation.
Commercially minded with experience managing budgets, processing progress claims, verifying quantities and controlling project costs.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements for construction sites and commitment to promoting a positive safety culture; willingness to complete site inductions as required.
Relevant tertiary qualification or industry certifications in construction, engineering or contract management desirable.
