About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Traffic Management Planner seeking a permanent role in Dunedin? We want to hear from you!
This role will plan, coordinate and deliver temporary traffic management solutions for a variety of projects across the Otago region, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient outcomes for our clients and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, prepare and submit traffic management plans (TMPs) and permits in accordance with NZTA, local council and client requirements.
Conduct site visits and risk assessments to determine suitable traffic control measures, signage and temporary road layouts.
Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders and council authorities to programme traffic management works and minimise disruption to road users and residents.
Prepare accurate traffic control drawings, traffic management plans, site diaries and as-built documentation; maintain records and ensure plans are updated when site conditions change.
Provide technical advice and on-site support to traffic controllers and site crews, including briefings and inductions to ensure compliance with TMPs.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise traffic flows and reduce impacts on the community.
Skills & Experience – What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in traffic management planning or coordination, preferably within roading, utilities or construction sectors.
Sound knowledge of New Zealand Traffic Management standards, code of practice and relevant legislation.
Ability to read and produce plans, traffic control diagrams and permit documentation with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, clients and council personnel.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Valid New Zealand driver’s licence - minimum Class 1 preferred.
STMS A & B Practicing will be an advantage.
Right to work in New Zealand.
