About the Opportunity – Permanent Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Quarry Plant Operator to join our Christchurch team on a permanent full-time basis. In this hands-on role you will operate plant and machinery within our quarry operations to support production targets, maintain product quality and ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable Quarry Operator who takes pride in efficient plant operation and proactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities – Quarry Plant Operations
Operate crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, stackers and associated plant in line with production schedules and site procedures.
Conduct routine pre-start and shutdown checks, perform basic maintenance tasks and assist tradespeople with repairs as required.
Safely carry out loading and unloading duties, manage stockpiles, and assist with quality control sampling and record keeping.
Complete accurate site documentation including plant logs, incident reports and maintenance records to support continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, production staff and contractors to meet programme targets while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Skills & Experience – What We’re Looking For
Previous experience operating quarry plant or similar heavy industrial machinery is essential.
Understanding of plant maintenance practices and ability to carry out routine checks and basic repairs.
Strong commitment to health and safety, with practical knowledge of site safety systems and hazard identification.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Valid New Zealand driver’s licence a minimum of Class 2 required.
Legal right to work in New Zealand is essential.
