Key Responsibilities – Construction Foreman Roles Dunedin
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of civil construction sites, ensuring work is completed efficiently, on time, and to specification.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of operators, labourers, and tradespeople, promoting best practice and professional development.
- Oversee safety compliance, including holding tool-box talks, enforcing procedures, and reporting and addressing hazards immediately.
- Interpret and implement project plans, drawings, and specifications, liaising with engineers and project managers as required.
- Manage resources including materials, equipment, and personnel, ensuring optimal site productivity.
- Monitor work quality, carry out inspections, and resolve on-site issues and queries.
- Ensure accurate daily reporting, timesheets, and site documentation in line with company procedures.
- Foster a positive team culture that values inclusion, safety, performance, and respect.
Skills & Experience – Foreman and Civil Construction Supervisory Jobs
- Proven experience in civil construction or a related field, with prior site supervision or leadership responsibility highly regarded.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, and health & safety requirements.
- Exceptional communication, team leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans, supervise multiple tasks, and adapt to project demands.
- Proficiency in daily site paperwork, reporting, and basic computer use.
- A full New Zealand driver’s licence is essential; WTR endorsements, Site Safe, and relevant NZQA or trade qualifications are advantageous.
- Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor, dynamic construction environments.
